Good place for free ranging?

They are almost 23 weeks old and I have been letting them have more and more time out of the run. They put themselves to bed a bit after sunset every day without issues. They have mostly been sticking close to the patio but are finally starting to explore the rest of the woods. This was the first time I have seen them all the way down near the fence.

The dogs managed to scare away (they really wanted to play but no need to tell that to anyone lol) my neighbors dog who the for some reason aren’t willing to keep a leash on him when on their unfenced property, that is just as small if not smaller than mine, and almost always run into the woods. The chickens also seem aware of when something possibly dangerous is around so that is pretty great. But then again one of mine ran up to a deer to peck its nose so they can also be pretty stupid 😅

They have also been doing good at coming back to the coop to lay (I have only been at 2 up until today so it may not last) so I haven’t had to look for any hidden nests yet. I do tend to let them out at 3 pm (when I get back from school) so they almost always lay before that. But today when I let them out at 10:30 am I couldn’t find one of them then realized she was being a good girly and was in the nest box.
