True.. our local dog pound gets chickens all of the time in for adoption.. not sure what they cahrge for them

Usuallly they will sell them cheap, 50cents, 1$, 2$, That's what I am planning on doing hopefully soon.

All of the rescue places around here charge $20 for a rooster.. LOL No wonder they can't get them homes. Anyways..a lot depends on where you live. You could try petfinder which lists rescue and homes looking to rehome chickens. Most list their prices as well and you can search by your location.

I got mine from a farm auction for $2.75 each. I don't know how old they are and if they are are going to lay, so far 2 of them have started. They were molting when I got them and it was late fall.
