Good protective alert bantam breed?

They do get cold quicker, but just make sure they have something to walk around on in the run. I piled hay in mine for winter and he is happy to run around on it all day. At night he snuggles between 2 of my biggest girls and stays plenty warm! :)

Surely when there is a frost or something the hay just gets cold and it doesn't make a difference? So my temps aren't too bad? Most of the time it stays above freezing. What about my previous post?(you may have missed it, I do it all the time!)

The post about the run and hawks? Look up on the thread, it's there, lol. If it is too cold, they'll stay in the coop for the most part. Their feathers are great insulation and do well to keep them warm. If the get wet and can't get dry, that is where they will have problems. Just observe them, they'll let you know if something isn't right.

Ok told you I did it all the time! I have a little lean to that they can go under if it is raining, so dyou think they will be alright in an uncovered run? There will be a couple of standards in the flock aswell s that may warn the Hawks away! Sorry for all the questions!
