Good treats for baby chicks?

How
just for chick food (crumbles) they don't need grit

mine are around 2 weeks old ... i mashed up a hard boiled egg and gave it to them last night, they loved it

i tried to give mine yogurt ... but they didn't like it
much did you mash the hard boiled egg up?

I've given my babies (2 weeks old now) homemade blueberry yogurt and hard boiled egg. Both were a hit!

I do have a question about grit - we go down to the river and get buckets of fine, coarse river sand for our laying hens and they eat it up. Can I give the same thing to our chicks?

At what age do you give your baby chicks grit? I was told at the feed store it was not necessary until they were much older.

Start grit as soon as they start eating things that aren't water soluble, like hay, scratch, spaghetti, grapes etc.
egg yolks and yogurt do not require grit

I just tried giving mine crushed hard boiled eggs?........ And ....they didn't seem to like it!!? Any more tips about what I can give them? My big chickens loved the same hard boiled eggs but just not the chicks!:(
