Yesterday I gave my Olive Egger "Luna" to an acquaintance who has chickens. She came to me from Meyer as a free meal maker chick that I accidentally ordered. I thought she was a Lavender Orp for 6 months. She was the loudest chicken EVER and it was starting to affect my sanity. I mean, that chicken had a set of lungs on her. It was constant screaming all day starting at 6 am. All my other chickens were starting to imitate her calls. We haven't had a peaceful moment since she started up in January.

She also had a taste for feathers and I had noticed everyone had a few bald spots where she had dined on them. She was a little bit of a bully.

With her I gave my prized OE Olivia who never made a peep and laid the prettiest speckled olive eggs – they were best friends so I didn't want to split them up :(

I have been crying for 2 days. Even though she was crazy I still loved her so much. I hope they're having a happy new life, not terrorizing their new flock members and owners too much. It is so quiet here this morning.

Anyone else had this experience with OEs?

She was a pale blue not lavender i have one but shes quiet just skittish
I only thought she was a lavender orpington at first, but later found out she was an Olive Egger... not sure what her exact mix is but it was confirmed by Meyer that she was an OE.

How kind and caring of you to give them both to someone. I am sure they are glad that they have remained together. And it has made their transition easier.
I know giving away a chicken is hard, but be proud of yourself that by giving them both to the same person, you were not selfish and made their lives easier. :love

Thank you. That means a lot. I really had a hard time letting my Olive go too but I knew they would miss each other if I separated them.
