Hi everyone, I'm new to this post and just getting started again hatching baby chicks thanks to everybody here who has contributed to my compulsive additictive self.
I put 12 eggs in an old bator that I had in storage for 20 years. I found this form cleaned up the bator and went to TJ's for some eggs and after 3 power outages I lost the 7 chickies I had growing. So I'm trying again, got on ebay bought some BCM eggs and went back to TJ's and away I go.
I don't have any chickens right now and depending on my bator we'll see.
I found BYC looking at chickens because I missed having my own chickens. I use to raise pheasants and Old English Banties.

My husband and I live with 3 dogs, 5 cats, 2 horses and now have the humm of the bator in our dinning room.

Welcome.

What do people do who live in Mammoth? I know it was once a mining town.

I have a friend who grew up in Kearny/Hadon

I imagine it's low enough it still gets hotter than blazes there in summer.

Where do you get your water from? Wells?

How far is it from Biosphere II?

Thank you

I worked for the mine for 25 years, and I now work at Bioshpere II. I'm on graveyard right now 30 more mins to go!!

We are a little cooler here than in Tucson. We do have our own well and the water is great. Its about 20 miles from the Bioshpere.
