I have some chicks that a local preschool hatched for me. One of them seemed on deaths edge its first two days (couldn't walk, flopping around) but is now doing fine at 3ish weeks old except....
It has one eye that is on and off gooey. The eye has been this way since hatch so I don't think it's an infection. No one else has the problem - so not contagious. It reminds me of my daughter when she was little and had problems with blocked tear ducts. Could a chicken have the same problem?
Some days it seems better than others.
What should I do before this causes a long term problem?
