Goofy question, but I gotta ask...

Yup! One of my chickens, Kiki, distinctively knew her name. The other chickens I think came when we called them, but I know that Kiki knew her name.

I have a rooster that knows his name, and even responds. All we have to do is call out "Freezer, talk to me" and he jumps up on his roost in the run and belts out his crow.

Mine all think their names are "HERE CHICK CHICK CHICK"! They ALL come runnin when I call that!

I DO believe that my red sex link knows her name though because when I call Izzy Bean she will come running every time. The others...no so much but they DO come running for here chick chick just fine

They know they get treats then.

Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to be sure to buy mealworms or crickets whenever I have the opportunity & hand them out one at a time to my flock at the same time I say each one's name. There is one hen (Daisy) who is pretty observant & the three chicks have become considerably more tame in just a week-it's worth experimenting with

Soon after my son brought home our first chicken I noticed the hen (Lucki) seemed to be picking up on the goings on of our family. I sat with her in the afternoons studying her all the while I believe she was doing the same to me. I soon started to realize this is no stupid chicken we have here and did some studying...I read some chickens have the intelligence of a two year old child so learning their names is quite possible.
