Downloaded Google sketch up but have not looked at it yet

I know several on here use is

a stupid question but does it have a feature to calculate lumber needed also? If no is there such a program?

Sorry, but it won't calc lumber needs.. I'm not aware of a simple program that will do that. Sketchup is a super fun tool once you figure some stuff out. A great way to trouble shoot a design without wasting material
