I have a Salmon Faverolles that I just received yesterday with 8 other chicks. The others seem fine, but she has runny eyes that goop closed. I have used a warm wash cloth to clean her eyes, and then she will eat and drink with the others. I called Meyer
Hatchery where she came from and they said that it sounds like her eyes were irritated by something in the shipping. They suggested continuing to clean them with the wash cloth, and putting Neosporin on them twice a day. Does this sound appropriate? Is there anything else that I can/should do?
She doesn't have any other symptoms. She is not sneezing or coughing, her breathing seems fine, and she doesn't have anything coming out of her beak.
TIA!
