my gander was attacked by dogs tonight when we found he was covered in ants, gave him a bath. but he still can't hold his head up he has drank some water, any advice on what else to give him

I would up his protein with cooked eggs, yogurt and add vitamins too. Good Luck. Keep him warm.

So sorry to hear that...hope he pulls thru with your tender loving care.
Were there any puncture wounds that need dressing with an antibiotic?

Most likely he's in shock, keep him warm and offer water with electrolytes and vitamins in it, it may take him a while to start eating again but fresh water for hydration is very important. Hope he is doing better this morning.

I hope he's improving

When this happened to one of our ganders, his wounds were too extensive to even dress. I cleaned him up as much as possible and sprayed him with Bactine several times a day. It was a couple weeks before he'd even attempt to get into a pool, and then I added Oxine AH to the water for the first week just to be on the safe side. You would never think he was going to make it, but he did.
