I have a pair of mixed geese and I am anxiously awaiting eggs.

Will the geese mate before they lay? As in, I can keep an eye out for mating and then expect eggs the next day or next few days!?!

They are my first geese and they are killing me in anticipation for eggs!

I have 2 pr. of chinese geese. The hens are yet to lay this winter. I have seen them mating in their water trough so all is well and I too am waiting on eggs.
Cold here in Indiana and if I was not out there to gather them they would freeze anyway. Hopefully the hens will take an interest when spring comes.

Thanks! Appreciate it, I haven't even seen these guys mate and they're killin' me..

[IMG] Maybe I need to slip a little viagra or rooster booster into their feed. [IMG]

Mine have lain a couple of eggs in the Fall which weren't fertile. I have also read that sometimes the first one or two eggs in the Spring may not be fertile.

You *should* see them breed a few days/weeks before they begin to lay fertile eggs.
