Goose DOUBLE YOLKER???!???

Latest update, we've moved on from the "spot" phase into the "spider" phase and so far so good. The egg already looks so full, its incredible. I set other eggs on the same day and it seems as though it is more than twice as big. I doubt I will be able to see much once it really fills up. Its also harder to see the details because there is a little bit of nest dirt on the side of the egg where the babies are developing. Right now they both seem to be developing in the center of the egg, as opposed to one on the left and one right. It looks like a colon : how the spots are. I can see them getting veins but its harder to see than in some (cleaner) eggs.

i dont know if youre supposed to, but i like to clean the eggs. if they have been set already, i use a bowl of just over room-temp water, a parer towel and do it quickly so they dont go cold. then quickly dry off with a towel. it might help you to keep track. BUT LIKE I SAID, I DONT KNOW IF YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO DO THAT. none of mine have been affected by doing it, but thats just me. i could just be

I used to clean them and I had a higher number of quitters then. Apparently the mom puts on a protective barrier that protects against germs and things. I used to spot clean the dirty ones with a wet toothbrush. I was still able to incubate them after cleaning them but it seems like it works out a little better when I don't. Its not terribly dirty but a little dirt in the right place can make it hard to see when you candle them. I'm sure in a week or so it will be looking very full anyway and I just might have to go without seeing every little thing.
