how do you do the ratio of pond to plant when ducks and geese are involved? I very much want to do this at some point and have been curious about that. also are you growing fish to feed to your birds? are you growing fish for yourself?

I don't really know the ratio yet. as far as how many ducks per grow beds. normally you can have as much grow bed volume as pond volume. Some of the commercial places will go up to 3 times grow bed volume per their reservoir volume. but with ducks and geese I'm sure i have enough nutrient to grow as many grow beds as i have space for. the nutrient is building up to fast as of now and i have to limit the time they swim each day. I'm not growing fish, but i think the guy says i fish per 10 gallons if i remember right. But I'm positive the ducks will blow the fish out of the water when it comes to pooh production. As it is I'm totally learning as i go. I was just excited and hope i can inspire others and people who already are doing it hopefully will add to this.

no problem. Ya its kinda a learn as i go thing. there is allot of info out there for doing it with fish. so im just doing everything the same and hoping it all works out. ive seen a few others post videos on youtube, so i thought it was the perfect idea to keep their water clean.

yay. ha ha. that is the exact one the maid me do it for my ducks and geese. I was looking into aquaponics allot and when i seen this video i was probably putting off my daily chore off changing the nasty-est water you will ever smell. My Duck and goose water after one day was horrid. So it was settled i had to build it. I will def keep everyone posted. Its starting to get cold so i need to get a tank heater going. I just started to add the winter cover up on the sides of the greenhouse this morning. Its starting to get cold here at nights and on cloudy days.
