So today when I brought my chicks to their new home, the farm, our friend told us that he spooked away a goose off her nest and when he looked in the nest there were two eggs:

He said if i wanted to try to incubate them i could. But i don't know how long ago they were layed or even if they are fertilized. He said he saw a female and male goose but not sure if they are. So here i am with 2 eggs, won't fit into my turner...

how many times should i turn these eggs since they are bigger? I dont think it matters between small and big eggs.. or am i wrong?
anything i should know about incubating goose eggs? i have only done chicken.

*we left the eggs in the nest until after lunch in hope that the mother would return... she did not return so we took the eggs in hope to incubate them if they are fertile.

Ehow says to wash the eggs using a damp cloth that is warmer then the eggs. I remember with chicken eggs they say no:

don't take this as criticism in any way. but just an fyi. They are protected under the migratory bird act and I know here it is a federal offence to disturb or move a Canada goose or egg with out a permit.

thanks for your FYI.
I'm not 100% sure they are canadian. All i know is that they are some sort of goose. I do know that we can not kill them. Not that I would want to any way... but that's all i know about Canadian goose.
I wasn't the one who moved them. My friend just showed me the eggs and asked if i can save them if they are fertile. he "guessed" perhaps they are Canadian but he also saw other regular goose around.

I just candled the eggs and they seem to be just laid eggs so they can go either way...

That's cool. I bet there's a good chance they are fertile. That will be cool if they hatch. I am trying to hatch my own chickens for the first time I will get my eggs next week. Good luck
