Order arrived!

Eggs arrived yesterday, they'll go into the incubator on Tuesday. I'm hatching 15 quail for a kids program at my job, then the rest will go in on the first. These are Coturnix Quail Feather Sexable Mix by McMurray.

I don't have quail, nor do I know anything about them, but these look like marbles! Congrats!

They really are gorgeous eggs. One of them is blue with spots so I'm hoping that one hatches especially.

If that one hatches and is a hen, would it mean it would lay eggs like that? (hehe. I'm a newbie at this stuff)

Not 100% sure, but even if a male it would still have the gene for colored eggs.

I wouldn't wait until Tuesday to put them in the incubator. Chances of development start to drop sharply 7 days after they're laid, so the sooner you get them in the better.

Tuesday morning at 9 am is the soonest I can get them in as they were shipped so it was advised per the hatchery to let them rest for a few days before putting them in the incubator. Also, the place I'm doing the program is closed Sunday and I won't be there Monday.
