Just looking for thoughts here...
I bought 3 African geese last year. They were shipped and brooded with ducklings. Now at a year old the gander and one of the geese are very obviously bonded. The other goose goes over the fence every single day to spend the day hanging out with the chickens. No differences in feed, grazing shelter anything. She just seems to like it better over there. Every night I put her back with the pair and evey morning she's in the chicken pen (short fence divides the 2 areas).
I am thinking of just putting her in with the ducks and seeing if she's any happier. The water set up is more suited for her there and they all ran together until a couple of months ago anyway. Thoughts? Anyone had a goose be a 3rd wheel before? Poor thing.

I had a goose who was hatched by a Muscovy ducks and bonded with them for 5 yrs before I brought home a female for him, so yes she can live happily with ducks as long as the drakes don't drive her crazy wanting to mate with her constantly. She might have made her choice on her own though.

Thanks Miss Lydia. I think I'm going to carry her over to the duck pen today for a few hours and see how it goes. It's really odd to me that she doesn't seem to want anything to do with the other geese.
