One of my goslings has ripped the webbing on its foot. Its limping, quite badly so I washed the foot and have it separate. It has food and water - should I use Pen-G around the affected area?

thanks

Geese are very resistant to infection. But for sure you need to separate it in a cage or small run where you can keep it out of hte mud.

If you give it Pen-G, give it 1 cc in the thigh of the leg which is injured.

How big is the gosling? I myself wouldn't use the Pen. If you keep the gosling in a clean (relatively speaking here) area, the webbing will heal on its own.

As greyfields said, they are very resistant to infection.

Pen-G is long acting. I would give it twice two days apart then monitor. It really can't hurt and the webbing of the foot is probably the most prone place to infection on a goose. As mentioned they are veyr resiliant... but I've treated about 4 bumble foots already this year.
