It seems that lobes are different for different breeds, and some breeds will indeed have just the 1 lobe. The lobes are really just an appearance thing, and that missing a lobe is fine, unless you want show-quality geese.

Some geese have one lobe, some have two, and some have a combination, it just depends on genetics or individually how they carry their weight.
