Goose Rescue... (Need help Sexing and IDing)

It does make me wonder, who the hell would drop their geese off on Bragg Blvd? I mean, it's not even a public pond or park. It's all roads and businesses.

The one with the bump on its head is an African, the other is Chinese and the third little one is a Canadian cross. most likely domestic there for not illegal.

So I may have a pair? With the white being a male and the brown being a female?

The brown is kind of pushy with the other two. We threw some bread, to break the ice, and everytime one of the other two would get some the Brown would mouth them with an open beak.

The little Canada cross, is a tad more fiesty than the big ones.

The big white one has the biggest "bump" and has some pretty blue eyes..

Yeah the bigger bump usually indicates a gander, the other two are probably female, I am not a geese expert however I have apair of chinese I recently got, and the gander has a larger bump than his mate, also chinese geese can be white/or brown

I have found that the male goose will come up to you and bow his head and "talk" at you as if to challenge you.
The females are not like that...
Your white looks like a male... good luck!

What an exciting adventure y'all had!

Glad everyone made it out unscathed! I bet someone dumped them. That is so sad. Are you planning on keeping them? They make great guard animals!

Glad you posted this. It is an amazing story!

If I didn't know better I would say you got my Brown ChinaXWhite embden pair there!!! That cross is sexlinked, males being blue splashes and females being brown. My pair looked almost exactly like yours.

Here is a pic of mine(as yearlings), you can easily tell the gander from the goose by colour, and also by stance, he is the one threatening me with his head down low.

Adult geese usually are easy to sex by behaviour.

This picture also shows nicely the difference as well(these were my embdens):

That's very interesting Fancyfowl. Thank you so much for the pictures and stuff.

The big White is pretty much all white with the exception of a black mark on his neck. The gray on him was only dirt. I'll update pics, once my new buddies are clean. Because last night Sophia and I were discussing that even the black mark on the back of his neck just might be grease, from walking under cars. If that's true, than he's actually completely white with blue eyes.
