My yard is full of potentially goose-harmful stuff like daffodil, rhubarb, potato, and foxglove. My geese have chewed on everything - everything - but they seem to spit out the harmful stuff, and they've never been sick.
Just today, my gander yanked up a bunch of daffodil bulbs, chewed them and tossed them aside. Last summer he cut down my potatoes and ripped the leaves off of my rhubarb.
The only things I've removed were two small yews. I'd had them for years with the geese and nothing had happened, but I had just heard of an acquaintance losing his horses because a yew branch had fallen down in their field, and I decided not to risk it.
Point is, geese seem to have excellent instincts when it comes to which plants are safe to eat - and which to simply destroy ...
