Goose tractor? Does this look safe?

My dad built my goslings a tractor today since they outgrew the brooder, it has an attached house for them and tarp for a roof. I'm probably just paranoid but they're outside in it for the night and I'm just worried how safe they'll be. I think it's chicken wire screwed in with some around the base.

They were terrified to go in and be alone but I have nothing else for them

It looks pretty stout from a predation standpoint. I don’t think anything getting at them through the wire. The tarp may get shredded, I’m not sure. Is there any perimeter fence around the area you have the tractor in?

The tarp is covering more fence! So I don't think anything will get through that either. Not really, there's fence on the ground to prevent digging though but otherwise it's open as we'll be moving it around

okay, good deal. I think it looks pretty secure. I began keeping geese about four years ago and started with a tractor that was an 8’ x 8’ square with welded wire similar to yours with a metal roof. I quit using it as it was a bit too heavy to move and also the goslings grew so fast, ate all the grass so fast, and pooped an unfathomable amount that I was moving it 2-3 times a day.

I have a mobile goose coop I use for mine and then use electric poultry netting for the day area. If you plan on keeping them there all day I agree it will get pooped up pretty fast especially as they grow. Mine is made from an old truck topper and I have to move it weekly with 2 adult geese to keep the poop down but it works really well. With recent babies Im moving every other day. I would advise adding some electric poultry netting as the get older and use for nights.

To clarify I only lock them at night (8-12 hours depending on time of year) then they roam a larger area with poultry net during the day
