Goose Water

Can anyone tell me why my geese have started putting their straw bedding in their water? it started about 2 weeks ago... I had to clean their water twice today!

Expect them to put anything they can get their hands (beaks) on into that water from now on.

Mine have always put straw in their water. I think they're trying to train me to be a better care taker by giving me something to clean every day.

Normal goose behavior, I think it’s a nest building instinct, males and females both do it.

Everytime i empty their clean water bucket I always come back to a few rocks and pebbles.

It's strange, though, because they didn't do it for the first 4 weeks I had them... and I have always cleaned their water bucket every day!

The pen they're in right now was supposed to be temporary, but she's now sitting on a bunch of eggs (that I pray are fertile!) & I cannot move them!
