Goose with ear infection

I have a six-week old goose with what I think is an ear infection. The down over the ear is matted and there is what looks like pus coming from the ear. Very gross.

Does anyone know what the best treatment is for an ear infection?

I would try a half a tsp of terramycin (water soluable powder for livestock) per gallon of water for at least 7 days.

I was wondering if you have a deep enough water source for your gosling! Goose/ducks need a deep pan so they can totally dunk there heads to clean there eyes and nose. I found this out the hard way. I had a pair of Chinas that I had a shallow pan and the female was always crusty eyed and gross stuff from nose. Well a friend took one look at her and my set up and said "well, you need a deep pan" a few days later poof everything was fine. Geese usually NEVER need any meds. Keep us posted and hope all goes well.

I do have them with a deep water source. During the day, I provide them a kiddie pool so they can bathe and dunk their heads. I also give them water in an open bucket at night when penned.

Other than the gooey ear, the goose shows no symptoms.
