GopherBoy Builds an incubator

I have the instructions printed out and am gathering supplies before I spring this new project on DH...lol. I am not trying to be dense but could someone explain to me exactly how the eggs get turned? I have read and re-read the directions and I am just not grasping it.

Now I get it...not really turning but tilting/rocking. DUH!!!

oh thank you for asking...well the Gopher-Bator worked...they started pipping early and continued for 2 days after due date. We ended up with 5 from the bator and 3 from our broody hen. One from the broody hen didnt make it and is now in our pet cemetary

So we naw have 7 cute litle chicks, all so far are shades of "buff" like there daddy Nikki Roo a Buff Cochin, and all with feathered feat, we have one that is a cuckoo marans/buff cochin that is grey at the moment...and then we have poor little Waddles.....she was the last hatched (while I was gone) and she is BAD spraddle leg. Right now I have her in the brooder with the others but in a seperate area....the others where running over the top of her. She is eating and drinking with my help, and only the size of a small little golf ball. Here are the pics I just took.

I admit it, GopherBoy was part of the reason I decided to join the forums. I read your coop building page on the BYC site and thought it was seriously way too funny. My mom, my husband and I all said your husband (you guys share an ID, I'm gathering?) looks like a twin of Ty from Extreme Home Makeover. Bet Ty would get a huge kick out of seeing your coop building pictures too.

As for your incubator... that's awesome! You guys are just extremely creative.

Woohoo! Success! I wish I had started keeping a running list of all the success stories sparked by my bator tutorial. LOL

Extremely cute chicken-ness!

Very nice job!. I however cant find a thermostat that will go that low other than the old standard wafer one. Ive tried several hot water heater ones but they dont go below 110?
