I've a day old gosling that can't stand. It just lies down and kicks its legs about. I tried a splint for splayed leg but it still can't stand, it's just on its side. Any advice?

If it's only a day old it needs more time to get on its feet. It takes goslings a day or two to gather strength to stand and walk without stumbling around. At this point I would still have the gosling in the incubator. Goslings need a rough surface to stand on, wire floor, wood shavings, straw bedding, etc. If placed on a slick surface their feet will slide out from under them. If needed you can tape the legs together to help with splay legs, but this takes several days.

Try this link for more info. Good luck!!

I did try the tape but it just lay on its side. I put it in a sink of water to see how it paddled, one leg was a lot more active than the other. Now dried off and back in the incubator.
