My gander, Patty, had the same issue when he was a baby. We took him to the avian vet...but that was a waste of money for us. They ended up putting this ridiculous bandage on him and it made it worse. Make sure you are feeding him a high protein starter food. My husband fixed Patty's leg in a weeks time and he grew up to walk perfectly.

This is what hubby did:

He took two Popsicle sticks and cut them down to patty's leg size. He rounded the corners and then put a tiny screw or rivet in the center of the two Popsicle sticks so that it made a "prosthetic" mechanical leg. We then taped it to The outside of Patty's leg and it cured him in a week! We thought he was a goner, but he is 4 yrs now and doing great! We did have to retape and reposition it each night. I'm so glad he made it because he is the entertainer of our hobby farm...always making us laugh!
