One of my Embden Goslings started limping this afternoon. He acts fine otherwise and I don't believe he has been injured. They eat greens and meatbird 22% protein, recently added grit yesterday, and tons of water. Any ideas? My daughter is so worried as Jules is her favorite! 😥

this is the type of feed I give them. Do I need to add brewers yeast? I'm so worried 😟

I don’t see niacin in the ingredients. I’d get either a feed for waterfowl or an all flock feed if you have a mixed flock. Purina has Flock Raiser but I’d go to TSC and get Durvet liquid BComplex it will say injectable but we use it orally for our waterfowl 1/2 ml daily until 3 weeks then 1 ml daily over a special treat.

Thank you! I actually ended up doing a ton of research yesterday and grabbed some niacin pills from the drug store and diluted it in their water & ordered 2 40lb bags of the above food that came in today. The little gosling already seems to be doing better. My heart was breaking for him.

Will do. I figured it said specifically formulated to meet the niacin requirements of ducks (55 mg/lb) so thats similar for geese, correct?

Yes and the niacin will help too since it’s already having problems . Just make sure you not using time released or flush free they have no benefit.

Dang I did grab flush free? It was the only kind our store carried? He is doing a lot better today? Should I just see if the food helps? Or do I need to do more than that?
