Gosling-purple bruised bill?

Hi all,
I have a 7 week gosling (Greg) a very happy, healthy guy, doing all the normal things a gosling should do.
About 4 weeks ago, he damaged the end of his bill, no blood but a scab appeared and lasted probably 2 weeks, eventually it came off. He now had a little indentation but seems fine.
The bit that confuses me is that his bill is still purple bruised and it seems to have become more bruised in the last few days. I’ve attached a photo, is this bruising or could it be something else? Anything I can do to help the healing. In general it doesn’t seem to affect him at all.

It almost looks as if he is damaging it on a feeder/waterer/ or by reaching through a wire fence.

It will be fine, it’s dried blood from bruising that got trapped under the keratin, it might take a few months but it will gradually go away as he slowly wares away and replaces the keratin.

Thank you he has a sister who I’ve named Peg (Gregory & Peggy or Greg & Peg! )

This site is an actual god send for newbies like me! Greg had a touch of angel wing develop last week aswell (like his mother) and thanks to this site, that’s now grown out too!
