My 3 goslings arrived today, everyone is acting pretty normal except for one who absolutely hates to be separated from me. I assume she has “imprinted” and sees me as her mommy. Even 2 feet away in line of sight is too far, she screams as loud as she can and tried to escape the cage to get to me. She wants to be in my lap or right up against the cage wall with my face right on the other side. I can’t spend 24/7 with her obvs, I could squish her in my sleep and she needs feed/water and goose on goose contact. What do I do? Put a stuffy in? Is this typical for the first day? Thanks :)

This is normal, goslings are very affectionate and crave attention. When they’re young they’ll cuddle under their mom’s and sometime’s even their dad’s wings. They continue to snuggle like this for quite awhile, and if they can’t they feel insecure and scream and cry for “mom.”

You can try adding a stuffie but considering there are other goslings who are better substitutes I don’t think it’s necessary a better option would be to clip a little towel to the side of their container for her and the others to snuggle behind, which will remind them most of the wing.
