Goslings mating?

We got two goslings in May (our first geese). They are embden geese from Atwood's and are only about three months old. The last week or so, I've witnessed what looks to be mating between the two of them -- so at least I know we have a male and female! I've seen him mount her multiple times inside the water and out. But everything I read says that geese are much older when they begin to mate. What's going on here? Thanks for any insight!

They are practicing. lol and just because you see one mount the other doesn't necessarily mean you have a gander either, you may just have a more dominant female. Once breeding actually starts you can miss the gander's organ. My Female goose [Toulouse} was 9 months old before she had any interest in mating with my Embden gander.
