Goslings

So I live in Central California and I was wondering if it’s okay to take my goslings outside just for moments at a time to let them play and graze but i’m not sure if it’s too cold for them? It stays about 55-45 degrees out during the day and I’m not keeping outside permanently they’re brooder is inside with a sufficient heat source. When is the perfect age for them to go outside in this type of weather?

How old are they, and are they fully feathered?

They’re almost a week now, they haven’t feathered yet. I’m just not sure when to bring them out but I also wanna let them explore/graze and give them enrichment and allow them to do geese things. They’re well-being is important to me and I would never want to do something that could harm them.

At thous temperatures it wouldn't hurt them for moments at at a time. Baby geese without parent geese need to be at about 98 degrees for there first week. then you can take 10 degrees off for every week of age. Always when there outside remember wind chill. If they have goose parents they use the oils the parents built up and share with them. BUT if they are hatched babies there going to have to have time to build up there own weatherproofing. .

I was shocked when my 2 White Chinese goslings were out in the snow last year. I can't remember their age.. older than a week but still fuzz not feathers. They were adopted the day after I brought them back from the feed store, but 'mom' had trouble understanding babies need to cuddle for warmth so they snuggled with each other on the light dusting of snow. I checked on them often and would bring them inside to slip under the hotplate after an hour, but they were always fine and wanted to run outside again.
