That's kinda what I was thinking also about them being Australorps, since they ALL have some black to their legs. At least 1 of these is supposed to be a pullet and the other 8 "freebe-warmers" will be roos but I'm hoping that a few more of them turn out to be pullets too. I know they are pretty good at their sexing but I can always hope for a wrong guess or two.

It looks like all 9 of these black chicks have that white tip in their wings, and I don't see an odvious SLW in there with them. Oh well I have 3 other SLW's from my last order in January and it also looks like another one of those chicks I got in January is in fact an EE/SLW mix. It has a beard now and looks like a SLW with dark colored legs. Looks pretty cool so far.

I was at one of the co-ops yesterday looking at their baby chicks and they had some baby barred rocks that looked like these little black chicks. They had the white bellys and the white tip on their wings but I forgot to look at the color of their legs to see what they looked like.

Does anyone have little barred rocks or have you had barred rocks in the past and do these look like they may be barred rocks? I would rather have barred rocks instead of Australorps but all these roos will have to be re-homed because I don't need that many roos around, although I may keep 1 if they are barred rocks.

One of these little black chicks died the day before yesterday so I only have 7 of these now. It was the smallest one in the bunch.

Ok, I saw on another thread that barred rocks have a white spot on their head as chicks and these don't so most likely they are australorps.
They are 9 days old today......

Tractor Supply here is getting another batch of ducklings and chicks in today so I will be down there picking out about 3-4 little duckies and I'll see what they get for chicks today too. Another co-op is getting more chickies next Wednesday and they will be getting some EE's in so I will be in that line also to pick up about 4-6 more EE's. Gosh I'm liking these EE's more and more each day.
