i set eggs int he early am on 8-10\\ lockdown 8-28

Had 3 egg chips yesterday. 4 this morning. the one i noticed this morning is the one that hatched! how strange!!! no blood but a little left of the yolk from inside the egg.. i presume its the leftover after the absorption. hes kicking the eggs around like mad right now!!! I have to leave hte house but i hope in another hour he will be walking steadily and another will be out!

I woke up to 6 more in the bator!!!!!!


One is completely silver with feathers on its feet.. where did this guy come from?! I dont think any silkie eggs made it in? There should be some cochin mixes in there though. Everyone looks like they have a rose or wide comb.

ok i snapped some pics, much to the protesting of the babes

First is the silver one. cant be a silkie, not black skin. ive hatched out some from my cochin mixes before, nothing like this until now. feathered feet. The father has to be glw.. makes no sense but hes BEAUTIFUL!

Now for just one of the chipmunk ones. Im working on learning genetics a little bit, so i think first hand, this one might be a cockerel. but i have more to research. feathered feet also, and then a shot of all 8 huddled up together cause i took out the red light so the pic wouldnt be weird.

I cant wait for more!!!
