I currently have a pet pigeon that I keep in a dog kennel, and have never bred pigeons or taken care of baby pigeons. Today, I received a baby pigeon, but I am not entirely sure how to take care of it. I can't give it to my adult, because he will kill it. I have been feeding it a crop milk replacer ( a homemade recipe) but don't know how to really feed it. I have been dropping a little bit in between my fingers and then offering it. Is that the correct way?

Any advice or information is appreciated.

Thanks!!:)

When I raised doves, I would have them slide their beaks between my fingers and that encouraged them to open up. I would then use a syringe (no needle, just the plastic part) to squeeze about a pea sized amount into their beaks. It worked like a charm. Raised over a dozen doves that way.
