got a bloody egg why

this morning went to feed chickens and get eggs out and one was coverd in blood any one no why

Sometimes that happens. Hard to say why, but I don't think it's anything to worry about. I've had the same issue and never seen any ill effects on my hens.

Sometimes as the hen passes the egg it pops a vessels in the hen's vent on the way out. This is usually seen with with young layers, hens laying excessively large eggs and when the hen strains too much while pushing the egg out. If there are spots of blood on the egg the hen may have red mites round her vent.

oh right and no theres quite a little bit of blood and hens seem fine so thanks anyways
