Hello all,
Been a while since a had a small flock. We started with some Barnevelders, Beilefelders, and a couple of Barred Rock chicks about two months ago. We have seven total. Looking to pick up some Blue Laced Red Wyandottes if I can find them reasonable. A few years ago my son and I raised a variety of chickens, Welsummers, Copper Marans and even some Peafowl. We sold the farm and now I have about an acre total. I still have my incubator and assorted chicken equipment. My wife has taken to letting me have a few hens and one rooster. The jury is out on the roosters! LOL. I am hoping to raise a few rare and pretty standard chickens in the future(Already have the breeding pen in the works). I built a new coop and just finished the chicken yard a couple days ago. The heat here has been rough, we put ice in the water for them. Hope to share and learn ideas here.
