Got a new dog

My Chocolate Lab never bothers the chickens, only sniffs them and will follow the roo when he runs. She has learned not to bug them too much or she will get pecked. She was fully grown when I got the chickens and it has never been a problem. My Great Dane has also learned not to bug them in the 5 days I've had him. He's afraid of them, haha.

I have a Basset Hound who just wants to be in their run and coop with the chickens.....She doesn't EVER try to hurt them......but does want to be in with them and kinda "herds" them, kwim????, which can be bothersome to them at times. I think it all depends on each dog and their individual personality AND training. Good Luck!

I have two sisters from the same litter. Golden Retriever mixes. One thinks the chickens are wonderful to watch. The other thinks they'd make great squeeky toys (until they stopped making noise). I'm waiting for the aggressive one to get her nose pecked through the fencing. That would really help a lot. Right now, absolutely no contact without the fence for Amber.
