I've been out to name something Karma ever since we learned about it in history (we were studying religions). Karma is the good and bad results of all actions. Kinda like this pup seems to be a good result from your son adopting her. My dog name, Dharma, is also from Buddhism and means "the correct understanding of reality in its teachings". It is supposed to be a moral doctrine of the rights and duties of each individual.

My pup owns my heart too.
