We drove to Franklin, NC and picked up a trio of Sebbies yesterday from a wonderful friend of mine. Their names are Pavi, Nuri, and Gabby. Gabby Gander was EXTREMELY LOUD all the way home (4 hours) letting us know how angry he was. LOL The two girls, Pavi & Nuri were quiet most of the way.

Both girls are already laying so we brought home two eggs with us. They weren't happy last night, as we had them in quarantine. They could see and hear my Sebbies and my Sebbies could see and hear them but they couldn't get to one another. I don't think anyone here slept last night due to the honking all night long from both factions.

Gabby is very dominant from what I understand from my friend. He was mating with anything that moved at her place. And I have a very dominant male, Peter, here so watch out world when they finally come out of quarantine. I have a mostly peaceful flock, some squabbles with the "lower on the totem pole" ganders but nothing major.

I'm debating on whether I should keep these two factions separated permanently or not. Hmmm.

Anyway, I'm going to upload pics of them at their old place. I have to go down and take pics of them here later or tomorrow.

They are beautiful!!!!

LOL!! I love my Sebbies!! With these 3, I now have 17 of them. They're just so beautiful. They're also very calm and laid back too. It makes them great to work around them.

I didnt get to hatch any this year - I know its not too late to at least still look for eggs, but since I was asking around since June and didnt find anyone close, please post lots of pics... They are just so incredible to look at. Im sure they are going to fit in and be very happy living with you what ever you decide about the living arrangements.

Hi Alicia! I decided to let them out of quarantine today. Not something I usually do. After raising parrots for 31 years, I always quarantine for at least 30 days but my ears couldn't take the incessant back and forth honking! LOL

Anyway, I introduced them and everything went fine!

Peter, my head gander, grabbed the two girls one right after the other and held them down to show his dominance, then let them up. Then it was Gabby Ganders turn. They tussled for a few moments, Peter put him down on the ground, honked at him a few times and then got off of him. There's been no more problems. I guess Gabby accepted the fact that Peter's the boss and everything is peaceful again.

I'm so thrilled! They're all getting along like they were living like this always.

The girls laid two more eggs today. I'm not having goslings in the house yet, no way no how so I decided to sell them. We'll have goslings soon enough with my crew. LOL

I wish I could send you some eggs, Alicia. Even as well as I pack, I know they would never make it there in one piece.

Are your geese mating this time of year.?

The new ones are! They were mating over at my friends house in NC! She said that Gabby Gander was mating with anything that would hold still long enough. ROFL!!

We cracked some of their eggs over at her house in NC and sure enough, they're fertile. Her geese have always been on a weird laying cycle. They didn't lay in the spring this year. They didn't lay until June. Maybe now that they're here they'll eventually cycle with mine.

He's been mating with Pavi & Nuri here as well. My original flock hasn't started yet thank goodness. I'm hoping they wait until at least January or February. Last year they started in November. So far, I don't see any signs of them being interested yet, thank goodness!
