i stop turning the eggs on sunday... when i stopped turning the eggs they were on the 'X' side and this morning( day 18),about 30 mins ago, there were a little pip on the 'O' side so i turn it over to the 'O' side.... did I do the right thing or should i have left it alone

I turn mine over. A lot of people say don't open the bator. If your humidity is an issue and you are worried about drying them all off, just have a spray bottle ready with water, set to a fine mist spray and open the bator, position the egg how you think it will hatch best, lightly mist all the eggs and close the bator. If you live where the humidity is 60-70 today, I wouldn't worry much about it. Open the bator, turn the egg and close the bator as quickly as you can.
