Got a question

I have been reading post on the board for far longer than I should be with kids home and stuff to do, but have found tons of helpful information.
What I haven't been able to find is what an "EE" is?? Someone said that they are nice and mild mannered, but I have no clue as to what they are to even look at them.

Ha! Day three here, and I can answer that one. It's an "Easter Egger."

My question is what is a "DH?" I have a sneaking suspicion that it's a "Darn Husband" or something worse, but maybe that's just because I'm a DH with a guilty complex.

DH is usually "dear husband" online, but you can substitute the "D" for whatever word floats your boat at the time.

The same way, there is DW (dear wife), DD (dear daughter), DS (dear son), SIL/BIL (sister-in-law, etc.)... and even stuff like ex-DW/ex-DH, ha ha.

I thought there was a thread on BYC acronyms somewhere, but I can't remember for sure.

EE= Easter Egger

These are usually referred to as a mix of Ameraucana or Araucana birds of all different colors. Hatcheries sell them as "pure" but they are not. They do usually have beards, muffs, tufts, green or black legs, tails or not, or some variations of the above and lay colored eggs--pink, olive green, greenish blue, blue, various shades of brown, white, etc.

I have one EE. She is light brown with green legs and a muff. She lays one chalky white egg every day. I also have a friend who has one that is blue, a muff, no tail and lays a blue egg everyday that her children fight over. She came in a box with other chicks and was supposed to be a brown leghorn. NOT!

EE are a lot of fun to just have for their colored eggs.

Thanks for all the replies. Are EE's different than Araucanas/Americanas ? Where would I get them? I have a couple of sources for chicks, not sure if they could get the EE's.
I currently have my very first batch of layers and I really have hd fun and enjoyed them. These I got (through a friend of mine), from a guy that raises chicks until they start to lay and then sells the hens. They came already laying, very nice healthy Isa Browns.
I am thinking of getting chicks this spring, still deciding on what to get. My kids are also going to show chickens, so this site has been a HUGE help!!
