I have to go to Las Vegas NV on March 14th for a trial starting the 15th. Three years ago I made a report on a student's behalf,, and it's finally going to trial. A little more notice would have been nice.

Contact the court and see if the Judge can connect with you by phone rather than having to be present. It depends on just how formal the Trial is as to whether this is allowed. but they do take into account the cost and inconvenience of the distance you would have to travel.

I have to be there in person due to the nature of the trial. 2.5 years ago the DA and Sher. came here to interview me and told me when it did go to trial I would be required to be there. After this long I thought it might have been settled, but I guess they were trying to build a strong case. I like to see justice done, but I like to have a little more warning. The best thing is it my first day of Spring Break so I won't need a sub in my class!

On the flip side, you get to go to Vegas for Spring Break.

This true,,, but darn I wish I had money lol!!! That will be torture,, be in Sin City and can't sin! Hmmmm maybe I should put those cook books and leather jackets back up on Ebay!

There's so much to do in Vegas that is free! I'm flying out this Thursday (if this crud/cold I have doesn't kill me first). I love the sight seeing, have to do the new City Center. Business is so slow you can even drive down the Strip now without it taking forever. Will they put you up or do you have to find your own hotel?

Don't forget!!!!!!

1. They pay for miles traveled.

2. They pay you for being there to testify. Make SURE to put ALL travel expenses, hotel expenses, etc. on FILE so that you can show the DA and get reimbursed.

Just remember that there is a maximum that they will pay... the KMS is a set amount $x.xx per KM and the a lump sum for lodgings you will be lucky to break even

IDK...I made a hefty sum when I had to testify, and I'm going to making that sum much more often when this goes to court. I am missing a day at work, so I suppose it works out even.
