I have Buff Orpington, Barred Rock, Silver Laced Wyandotte, and Black Australorp hens. They've all been laying eggs of varying shades of light brown for a good while now.

Except today I got a single egg that was white as the virgin snow. Tell me this is common and one of my girls isn't sick or something.

Spray Booth Glitch...so no brown coating.
It happens, I'd not worry.
Would it be of concern if it's consistent? I have barred Plymouth rock and speckled Sussex. I suspect that it is one of the SS as the egg in question is usually just medium size. The egg is almost always cream colored, but there has been one or two that were white.

Coating can vary day to day.
As long as bird is eating/drinking/pooping/moving around OK, I'd not worry.
Also, it's normal for coating to get lighter as laying season progresses.
