You'll do fine!

You need to get a pair of scissors that have very tiny little ridges along the one cutting blade..... it keeps the hair from sliding to the end everytime you try cut... !

BEFORE:

I have not cut his hair for over 6 months

I always and ONLY cut wet hair.
Cutting the base line above the ear:

Base line around neck:

Once you've done all round, you use the base line as a guide, when you lift the section into your fingers, you should have caught a piece from the base line and can use that to determine the length to cut the rest of the hair above it:

Do that all the way around, over the top as well........... and you get:

Wow, now I know why I've been having such are hard time getting my son's hair cut even for 23 years, No base line. Guess I'll be buying some new scissors too. Your son looks very happy to have his hair cut! Thanks for the great pictures!

Jeez, you all want to do so much work. Get some clippers, slap a #3 on there, cut all hair on head. Then, go back and trim up the sides and edges. You get a perfect manly haircut that the women love and other men fear

Well, as a licensed Master Barber

All I can say is spend the $10 bucks and take the kid to a barbershop.......or listen to royicus. Wildsly did an awesome job, but they dont all come out so good. on behalf of all the embarrassed boys that get rushed in before school to get the hair fixed.......just pay the Barber

Wow, Wildsky what a beautiful job.
Mikey snuck into the bathroom whilst I was in here talking to you and he started to give himself a buzzcut with the clippers.
He started at the front and clipped ALL his fringe off and a lovely little section on his crown!!!!
He looks a bit weird however i fixed alot of it but he IS going to the barbers tommorrow!!!
I will post the after pic after I do all the uploading!!!
