Got any tips for saving space in small garden?

Fantastic idea! I have sand, but lots of small pebbles and not-so-small pebbles make for twisted carrots. I might have to do this! Thanks for sharing.

If you don't want to do small pots everywhere (keeping them watered can be hard in dry climates) a raised box 2'x4'and 12" deep should grow some nice carrots too. I line the bottoms of mine with cardboard but eventually weeds find their way in.
