Got both the same day!

So yesterday was Christmas eve. We opened our presents because my daughter could only be with us last night. Everyone got me my first bator! Then I went up to the barn to do a last check on all the birds for the night. Checked all the pigeons then I went in the barn to see the Coturnex and there was my first egg!! Well that worked out well.

That first egg is always exciting. Around the first of November I bought Manchurians that looked grown, but did not know their age. I looked for eggs each day and after bringing them into the sun room and lights I finally started getting eggs the day before Thanksgiving. Started off one egg then up to six which is how many hens I have. I consistently have gotten six eggs until a couple days ago I got five eggs for two days and now back to six again. I guess a girls decided to take a two day break.

I also got a 'bator for Christmas and the either that morning I got a 1st egg from one of my button females!
