got it- My New Chicks- pics

OMG! Major changes already. Had to move the brooder into the house because it got too hot on the porch! Of course, I spilled water all over everything while moving it, so all new puppy-pad and towels. Added a little pine shavings this time. Their new fun game is jumping back and forth over the roost... not on it, over it. I am going to love having them in the house- now I won't get ANYTHING done!

im so excited with you.... i saw your post this morning and got so excited for ya but couldnt post because i was using my bb and dont know how to very well. They are just adorable with adorable names and adorable "pops" to take care of them

I know what ya mean about not getting anything done. they are just TOOOOOO cute to leave alone... congrats!! from your SD friend

Beautiful babies! Love the little yellow fuzzbutt pic! Great names too! All of ours will eventually be named after herbs and flowers since they will be living in the green house incognito

Too afraid to name them yet since one in looking suspiciously like a roo...

Great pictures - especially with your son!

I love baby chicks!

If you decide you want anymore chicks I'm in Valley Center and hatching many different breeds and have from a day old to a few weeks old.
I'm gone a little crazy (according to my husband) and have five incubators! In fact I have babies hatching today! Rhode Island whites, Speckled Sussex and a few others!

OK, update time. I am surprised at how quiet my chicks are. I expected them to be louder, noisier. They peep to each other so softly it's almost like they are whispering. It is so sweet. The only one that makes any loud peeping is the RIR, "Ruby". Occasionally she will let out a yell. Well, she has me trained! Every time she does that I go running, and the little darlin' just looks up at me so sweetly.

I put my hand down and she comes running to be held.

Aaaw, she loves her mommy. I don't think my heart can take much more, it is about to explode with love already!

That's it for now, time for the "little one" I mentioned earlier before I start cooking dinner;)

So exciting. Great pics too. Thanks for sharing. It is a good thing I was laid off when I got my chicks. I could spend all day with them. Take lots of pics. They grow so fast. I have to laugh everytime one of my chicks walk by the small water jar that was in the brooder with them. The used to roost on top of it and now the are so much taller then it is. I started letting mine out of the brooder and into the garden after about two weeks. It was a lot of fun trying to put the all back into the box. And I have noticed that the one chick I did not handle much as a baby will not sit on my lap like her sisters do.
