Got my bator, some questions.

It's a little high - I've even run it at 50% and it's been ok, but try to shoot for 35% to 45%.

Also, with the sponge sitting on the screen, it'll be partially dry by morning, so the humidity will be lower. You'll probably have to wet the sponge once a day. I have a fan running in mine, so I have to wet it more often - the fan dries it out quicker.

Oh, and when you turn the eggs - try to maybe just lift the cover a bit, rather than take it off totally - that'll help hold in more heat and humidity while you're turning eggs.

10 eggs won't take long to turn, if you're rolling them.

You probably won't be able to see anything until day 7 at least - I usually go til day 10 before candling the first time.

Oh, and even if one or two aren't developing, I leave them in until I stop turning, because the more eggs you have the more it'll hold the temp steady.

That is, as long as they aren't spoiled

I had a spoiled duck egg I took out the other day - it was just starting to stink, so I caught it in time.

No idea, but hope that at least TWO hatch out - one lone chick is no party - it'll cry and cry all day and night looking for a buddy.

a stuffed animal helps, if one hatches but it isn't a good replacement for another chick.

stop turning at the end of day 18 and up the humidity to 65% - 70%

if you set the eggs tomorrow morning (before noon) that would be day 1 - if you set them tomorrow afternoon (after noon) the next day would be day 1.
