The lady at our Post Office woke us up this morning, and sweet DH jumped out of bed and drove me over there so that I could ride back with the peeping box in my lap

We found out later today that his father will be in the hospital for the next week while they do an emergency multiple bypass

which is why I'm just getting around to posting this! Please pray for my sweet daddy-in-law!!

Anyway, we placed a big order to split with some friends on Jan 29, and they finally arrived this morning!

We ordered 10 white silkies, 5 Gray Japanese Bantams, 5 Silver Seabrights, 5 Dominiques, and 15 assorted standard layers and 5 assorted Silkies for friends. We received around 13 white Silkies (I didn't get a good count of what our friends got - I just pulled out everything that I knew was mine then gave them them the rest...I took 10 white Silkies and they ended up with a few too), 3 Silkies of other colors, 6 each of the Japanese Bantams, Seabrights and Dominiques, and at least all of the standards. In all I think we ended up with about 8 packing peanuts!

They are all adorable and doing great! (Sorry the pic colors are kinda off - my heat lamp makes all my photos kinda yellow

They all like to take turns being Queen of the Mountain...or just falling asleep on the mountain

The Seabrights are the most adventurous and curious...they are so cute! Everytime I point the camera in the brooder, a little Seabright comes running up like "hey lady! what's this?"

The Dominiques are needy! There is always one or 2 of them peeping way louder than the rest, then I let them sit in my hand and they immediately fall asleep! When I put them down, they go right back to peeping

The Japanese Bantams are the least concerned with me...in fact they are near impossible to catch! They are notably smaller than all the others, and they look like little penguins...especially from behind when they are ducking around underneath everyone

They're adorable

And they love their new hot tub

Cackle recommends that the water is 98 degrees for the first few hours or day, and they all love it...

I love to watch them all sleep

Can I make one small recommendation? A bit of a safety warning? Seeing as how some of your new babies are already showing a proclivity for "tub time" you might want to put a handful of marbles or small clean rocks in the water dish. This will keep them from drowning when they fall asleep. It might even help to keep them out of the water dish altogether, cuz, seriously, who wants to drink after Mable and Mildred have been soaking their butts in there??!!
